I just came across this design software by Wedding Cake Design Pro. It is a comprehensive package to enable the non computer savvy like myself to design a wedding cake.
My initial thought was that it would be very limited – a bit like one of those computer programmes where you can do a few shapes and colour them in.
But I was very wrong. It is really extensive with loads of options for creating different sizes, styles and shapes of wedding cake.
The creators of this software say that is easy to use, low cost and fun.
From my point of view this would be a great tool to use during my consultations to help with the design of cakes. I usually sketch some designs for my clients which is something I really enjoy doing.
However this is something that I do fairly quickly during the consultation and then follow up with a more detailed version.
I’m pretty good with sketching and can get an idea down on paper but this software would be great with specific design details instead of me doing them roughly.
I guess it would be the difference between giving my clients an idea of what their cake will look like and an acurate representation of their cake.
Of course I would need to get to grips with it before trying it out during a consultation or we could be there for days while I press various buttons to get a piping design around the side of a cake tier.
Obviously I don’t want to put myself out of a job here so I would say to anyone thinking they could do away with a professional service that if you go for the whole do your own wedding cake you will spend precious champagne drinking and (for the brides) pampering time assembling it on you wedding day.
As well as that you may have a few late nights involving throwing things in frustration! so on that note I am still here to offer my services.
When you get a spare moment between everything else you have to organise have a look. It would be great to use to give you a clear picture of the idea you may have in your head and you can show you cake maker what you have in mind.
